Exotic World USA, home of the original Burlesque Festival & Striptease Reunion, proudly presents the 15th Annual Miss Exotic World Pageant -- featuring the world's top teasers, taking it off in the ultimate battle for Striptease Supremacy!

Or, as Exotic World curator Dixie Evans says, "Burlesque is back, baby." That's right, after all -- why else would the best and brightest Burlesque dancers from around the globe descend on a former goat farm in Death Valley once a year, to bare it all under the brutal desert sun? There's only one answer: they come to pay tribute to the lost art of "dignified" bump'n'grind at the Striptease Mecca of the Mojave: Exotic World Burlesque Museum and Striptease Hall of Fame.

Currently celebrating its 15th sequin-spangled year, the pageant never ceases to draw performers, spectators and media from around the globe. With competitors representing of a diverse array of shapes, sizes, ages and ethnicities, they all come in hopes of taking home the most coveted title in Burlesque: Miss Exotic World.

Known in the industry as the "Miss America of Burlesque," Miss Exotic World weekend is a must for divas and devotees of classic Burlesque alike. Taking place on the first Saturday of every June, the pageant and "stripteaser's reunion" is the world's foremost annual meeting of exotic dancers, old and new.

Ranging in age from 18 to their mid-80s, the lusty ladies who perform each year are clearly revered as goddesses by their loyal -- if not overly enthusiastic -- camera-toting admirers. Why? Perhaps because young or old, new to the scene or a seasoned pro, they all seem to share a unique knack for imbuing even the most innocent of gestures -- a wink, a blown-kiss, even a demure half-smile -- with the impact of a K-O punch.

But bear in mind, Dixie definitely does her best to keep the pageant strictly "dignified" -- and that means all participants must observe her pasties-and-g-string dress code, and that the hand-made signs around the ranch (reminding visitors that foul language, spitting, and alcohol are strictly forbidden) are more than just a suggestion.

A "strictly PG-13" event, Miss Exotic World is a delightful reminder that, in a day and age in which we've become increasingly desensitized to sex and sexuality, there was a time that (when done with the right amount of skill and sass) what one concealed could be even more tittilating that what they revealed.
