Both stars are receiving this prestigious award for their achievements in the Adult Industry. Former adult film star Sharon Mitchell began giving back to the community when she earned her degree as a certified HIV and chemical dependency counselor in 1996. When an outbreak of HIV hit the adult industry two years later, she founded AIM with internist Steve York, MD. Each month approximately 700 people - from the industry and the general public - come to AIM for state-of-the-art HIV and STD testing. Miss Mitchell is getting her Master's Degree in Public Health and her Ph.D. in Human Sexuality; her work is featured in press and media throughout the world.
