After 10 years of Players Balls starting off with Digital Underground as our first hip hop act, Digital Underground will be breaking up in February. This will be one of their last shows together and since they've rocked The Players Ball at least 8 to 10 times (I lost count), we wanted to do it one more time.

This time it will be fresh since it's targeting the AEE convention right before Internext. It will be primarily for industry Players (both video and distributors, internet peeps and famous friends). I know we've done it to the max for our Internet people, though you can't deny it's always a great act to start the night off. We've had them open up for Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Cypress Hill, Doug E Fresh, Too Short, Slick Rick, Ice-T and many others through the years. Legends of the game pay them their respects. They did discover Tupac, by the way.

Over the years our Players Ball family merged with the Digital Underground family, we're all pretty tight, so I'm gonna miss them as a unit once they break up.

They also just performed at the Playboy Mansion during WA, of course they were off the hook there too.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know you're invited if you decide to come in town a few days before Internext starts. We're not throwing a Players Ball during Internext this year. Our Plan is to do this one on January 11th then another in Hollywood for XBiz on February 7th.

The objective of the Players Ball has always been to celebrate with our industry business associates while giving the spotlight to the credible, well liked webmasters who are setting the example for our industry. Every January in Las Vegas we have a Pimp and Ho Players Ball with a mandatory dress code. Take a private vintage Rolls Royce or stretch limo to one of the worlds most upscale clubs. We've kept this party as underground as we can since it's a private industry event.
